Seabiscuit makes his debut at Suffolk Downs.

[7/15-BH] The horse finishes fourth in the Mayflower Stakes, but comes to the attention of trainer Tom Smith, who subsequently persuades Californian Charles Howard to buy the horse. Seabiscuit goes on to become one of the greatest race horses in thoroughbred history, winning the Massachusetts Handicap in 1937,* and is scheduled to run in a controversial match race in 1938.*
